The harvest is on!

Our garden is in full bloom and we are loving all the fresh veggies.  We have tried lots of new zucchini recipes and have given lots of zucchini away.  Our tomatoes are on and I love having my tomato sandwiches for lunch.  The kids love digging up the carrots and eating the strawberries as fast as they grow.  We even have several watermelon and cantaloupe growing.  It is so fun to watch things grow.

This is Cannon sneaking his share of the strawberries, red or not!

Our drinking fountain has been a huge his this summer.  It has saved me from washing hundreds of cups and the kids love the easy access.

Back to school

School is back in session! The new school, Riverview, was completed just in the nick of time (well actually they are still finishing it) to have the kids start Aug. 23.  Emily prayed for weeks to be in her best friend, McKayla's, class.  Heavenly Father answered her prayers and also gave her a great, new, young, male teacher who is funny, creative, and just who Emily needed to spark her love of learning!
Jacob and Hunter are excited to be the oldest of the school and also got in the same class as their best friend Braiden.  They love their teacher as who is also young, new, and full of energy, they are forgiving of her being a Ute fan.  We have great hopes for all of them.  Next we well post Alyssa's first day of kindergarten.  She is soooooo excited!

Class reunion

I had my 20 year high school reunion the first of August.  I had a great time seeing people from my younger years.  My 6 closest girl friend came from all over the country and we were able to have a little retreat at one of their family cabins.  We loved catching up and talked 'till 4 in the morning.  It was great to see the success of class mates and realize everyone grows older not just me.

camping at current creek

We had a great weekend at Current Creek camp ground.  It was our last summer fling and we has a smashing good time.  Cannon ate more dirt then food and loved every rock, tree, and bug!
The first morning there we took a great little mile hike up to a beautiful ridge.  The kids were all good hikers.  Janey's little legs didn't want to move much so her daddy was good to carry her.
Cannon is in "do it myself" mode and insisted on sitting on every edge of the overlook and being the last one to leave.
We went with our good friends the Johnsons.  Our kids have a great time together and it was really fun to have other family to hang out with.

This is Alyssa in her "I'm ready for the hike" pose!
Camp fire was definitely the funnest part.   The kids all went through several fire sticks and loves burning the ends of sticks and writing on the cement with the tips

Janey loved her little chair and made sure no one else had  a chance to sit in it.  We had a beautiful lake just down the hill that we went to and played in and took the canoe out on. Unfortunately we have no pictures because both cameras fell in the lake. We were blessed to save the still shot camera but our video camera no longer works.  Very sad.  WE are just hoping to somehow pull all the videos off the memory card

Cannon just gets cuter everyday.  He can say lots of words now and loves to shadow his big brothers and sisters
We finally did our summer day camp for kids.  We were going to do only one week 3 hours a day with different themes each day.  We had such a great response we opened a second week and had 11-13 kids in each week.  Lots of work, lots of fun, kids loved earning a little school clothes money and mom loved earning enough to get Dad a real birthday present this year.
Boys will be boys!  Jake, Hunter and and backdoor friend Brayden came home from scouts with hand fulls of oozing snails. Scared me to death when they came from behind me and shoved them in my face to show me.  Good one boys!

Our little girl is all grown up!  Alyssa lost her first tooth and just in time to start kindergarten.  It literally just fell out of her mouth.  Thanks to Emily we found it and she was rewarded by the tooth fairy.  It has been a good 4 years since we have had a child with a missing bottom tooth.  She looks so cute and I love her new lisp.
Dress up is always fun with a friend.  The Davis family came over for birthday celebration and all 6 of the girls had a ball dressing up in garb.

Can you get any cuter boys!
We participated in a float for the highland City days with the Dyslexia Center of Utah.  It was so fun to have all the kids there pass out candy and otter pops. We learned a couple of things for next year:  to avoid a sticky mess freeze pops way in advance and save some candy for the people at the end of the route.  The kids had a great time and it was fun to bring a little awareness to the community.
